Maybe it was the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday that caused us to gravitate toward today’s spotlight invitation. The invitation’s name is Espresso and Champagne Swirl, which sounds absolutely delicious. Good thing this stationery set looks as good as it sounds!

The floral detail along the bottom of the invitation is sophisticated and rich. It looks beautiful when paired with the coordinating enclosure cards.

This response card is printed on champagne colored paper to contrast the invitation and allow for guest’s writing to appear clearly on the card.

The reception card in slightly larger than the response card, allowing you space to include important details about the event.

Tis the Season to be Thankful! Send a coordinating Thank You Card to your wedding guests. You can customize the front of this card to say anything from your names, to your wedding date, to the words “Thank You.”

How do I make sure my wedding invitation has the proper amount of postage?

This may sound like a simple question, but postage is one of the most important aspects of your invitations. They must reach the guests! With email and online bill pay becoming more and more common, it is important for couples to be aware of postage costs. Because wedding invitations usually include multiple pieces such as the invite, response card, and reception card, it is easy for the envelope to weigh more than the standard $0.44. Also, square invitations require more postage than rectangular ones.

Take a completed invitation to your local post office to be weighed in order to determine the proper amount of postage. You will be happy you took the time to check!

Do any of you have helpful bits of advice on postage for your wedding invitations?

Today the sun is shining outside, and there is a definite chill in the air. Everything feels fresh and crisp, a reminder that the winter months are coming up quick. (For some of you, they may have already arrived!) When looking for an invitation to spotlight today, we couldn’t help but pick a clean bright white invitation with a silver deckle edge. This invitation works for all seasons, but would look beautiful for a white winter wedding.

The thin silver edge adds a touch of shimmer to the bright white invitation. The envelope liner is shown above in black, but this can be changed to blue, bright gold, golden, pearl. sage, silver, or taupe. Here are the closeups:

The invitation is shown here in Cagliari font in black, but this can be customized to fit your specific needs. The invite comes in a long, sleek shape measuring about 4″ across and 9.25″ long. The enclosue cards are printed on a matching cardstock with the silver deckle edge.

One of our staff members recently went driving through the middle of West Texas and came back with stories of beautiful sunrises and large open fields. As we put together this month’s inspiration board, we thought about a scenic wedding with just enough kitschy Western details. We especially love the idea of using a cross stitched pillow for the ring bearer and the bride wearing a cameo ring for her “Something Old.”

1st Class November Inspiration Board

Shades of brown with just a touch of blue make this inspiration board the perfect mix of Western chic. We included the Espresso and Aquamarine Leaf invitation from our exclusive line of ColorPress Invitations. What items are inspiring you this month?

Q: My fiance and I are the ones paying for the wedding. Do we need to have the completed response cards sent to my parents?

Mailbox

This is such a great question. It stems from a time when it was much more common for the bride’s parents to host the entire wedding event. The response cards were filled out and returned to the bride’s parents who were in charge of monitoring the guest list. Traditions have now started to change. Weddings can be hosted by a variety of people including the bride and groom themselves. With that being said, we advise the response cards be returned to the person keeping track of the guest list in order to keep the total head count organized.

This week we thought we would spotlight invitations that feature a certain color we are loving right now…purple! Shades of purple work well for all seasons, and we are posting a few of our favorite invites that embody all the different violet hues.

From royal purple to pale lavendar, this is a color that looks beautiful in weddings. Find these invites and more on our website.

Purple has been inspiring us lately, and we are excited to continue to offer this lovely invitation color!

Some couples choose not to use a color scheme filled with multiple shades of complementary colors. They instead opt to use neutral hues paired with one bold color. We are excited about this trend and found the perfect invitation to show it off.

We love this white invitation because the accent ribbon stands out against the embossed background. It’s shown here with a hot pink ribbon, but this invite can also be ordered in black, burgundy, red, green, mocha, midnight blue, purple, raspberry, or sapphire. The invite is a square shape when folded, but the sides open like a gate.

The enclosure cards also feature the matching embossed floral pattern. The font and font color can be customized to match your wedding colors.

Orange Napkins

It’s costume day around the office, and we have seen some clever creations walking around the halls. Some of the costumes include:

  • Melanie for Hitchcock’s The Birds
  • A Holiday Greeting Card
  • Cher
  • A Scarecow
  • Big Foot

The costumes along with lots of treats have made this a fun day at 1st Class Wedding Invitations! Have a Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween Week! We thought today we would share one of our most energetic invitations. If you want your wedding colors to really pop, try ebony and green. The result is fantastic! Also, this invitation is only $1.25 each (for quantity 100), making it a great bargain all round!

We added some white and pewter ink into the invitation for a bit of variation. The green looks lovely on the ebony background.

We used the green as the background color on the response card so guests’ replies will be easy to read. Remember, if you send a response card with a black background, it may be difficult for guests to make their writing appear unless they use a gel pen. We like to keep the response cards on a lighter background color.

What color combo is currently inspiring you?

We love the autumn season around here- the weather, the trick or treaters, and of course the pumpkins! So we wanted to take today to share with you some of our favorite pumpkin images in hopes of bringing you a bit of inspiration. Pumpkins make great addition to fall wedding decor, and we have collected a few of our favorite examples:

Pumpkins on Steps

Pumpkins mixed with flowers are such a lovely combination.

Love Pumpkins

Carving words into pumpkins is such a cute idea! The couple here used LOVE, but you could use almost anything including your initials or wedding date. It makes for an adorable photo opportunity.

 Pumpkin Cooler

This is such a creative idea for parties and weddings alike. Make your own drink cooler by removing the top of the pumpkin and pulling out the seeds. It is a simple and easy craft that adds character to your table.

Have a happy autumn weekend from all of us at 1st Class Wedding Invitations!
